cross_and_haversThe Salts Techstep 13th Annual Lichfield Dash is set for Saturday July 16th and the programme of events starting at 10am is being finalized.

The man v bike rematch has already been agreed with once again a top class speed merchant athlete taking on a top class speed merchant cyclist around Cathedral Close. The ever popular junior races will once again be staged with 400m, 100m and relay races taking the main focus, the reintroduction of the Elite Mile will see senior club athletes compete head to head followed by corporate and senior relays.

The junior Dash at 11am will see young athletes aged 12-16 take on the chimes before their senior counterparts take center stage at 11.59am as the Chariots of Fire inspired race against time (original quadrangle race pictured) comes to life in Cathedral Close.

2010 winner James Whitehouse of Birchfield Harriers (pictured right) has pledged to return to attempt to be only the second person in Dash history to defend the title, something he’s only too pleased to do:

Winning last year was brilliant and the live interview with John Inverdale on Radio 5Live was very special, lets hope they get behind it again this year and I am confident I can beat off all comers and win again.
