Arthur Price has made a unique winner’s trophy to celebrate the Lichfield Dash race during the London 2012 Olympic year.
We asked the famous cutlery and gift ware firm to design and commission a special winner’s award which will be presented for the first time in 2012 and then become the treasured winner’s trophy for generations to come.
The Arthur Price Lichfield Dash Trophy has a solid mahogany wooden base with stainless steel cutlery in three spires; in gold, silver and bronze finishes. The three spires represent not only the three parts of the winners’ podium but also the three distinct spires of Lichfield Cathedral. (more…)

BECKETT STORMS TO VICTORY
Michael Beckett was victorious in the WAITROSE LICHFIELD HALF MARATHON yesterday, a feat made all the more memorable as it was his first ever race over the distance!
Beckett (pictured) was in a small group of 4 who split off from the main field at around the 5 mile mark but then he broke clear in the last mile and came home to the cheers of the large crowd on Stowe Field. He was very complimentary of the event and how it was organized:
“I’d trained very hard to prepare but I couldn’t believe how well I ran. I’d like to thank all of the organisers, supporters and runners for creating a great atmosphere and coming out on a lovely Sunday morning to make it such a wonderful event.”
First female athlete home was Amanda Deavy (pictured) of Northbrook AC.
Richard Davis (pictured with winning athletes) Department Manager of sponsors Waitrose was delighted with how the event had gone:
“It was good to see the community of Lichfield out in such big numbers, it was a really well organised event with a fantastic atmosphere at the finish on Stowe Field. We hope we can be involved again in 2013 to make the event even bigger and better.”
Kevin Wilson of organisers KP Events was also pleased with the success of the event:
“We were very lucky with the weather which helped but the running community came together with the non-running community to make the day truly special and memorable for all who took part and watched the event. The police were wonderful in helping make it a safe event, and we raised money on the day for the WELOVELICHFIELD FUND which helps a number of good causes in the city – which is brilliant too.”
