FESTIVE DASH WILL BRING EARLY CHRISTMAS JOY TO LICHFIELD
On Sunday 8th December, join in or spectate at this year’s Festive Dash where hundreds of fun runners will dress up in their favourite festive outfit be it Santa, an elf, angel, Rudolph or their favourite festive jumper to run the 2.5k traffic-free route around the beautiful and historic Lichfield City centre. The Festive Dash takes in the Lichfield Christmas Food Festival so it’s perfect for spectators to enjoy some warming food and drinks while they’re supporting their friends and family on the run.
The fun starts on Stowe Field at 10.30 am when the real Father Christmas sets festive bunch on their way with the help of his friends and helpers from the Lichfield Round Table. Runners and walkers follow a 2.5k route into Dam Street, Minster Walk, Bird Street, Market Street back into Dam Street and finishing back on Stowe Field after a circuit of Stowe Pool.
Proceeds from the event will go to Shining Stars who provide night club experiences for adults with learning disabilities and disabilities in the Staffordshire area. Shining Stars was set up by local runner Charlotte Aspley who commented “As part of our mission to be kinder to the planet we have decided to make our fun run a festive fancy dress affair! By wearing your favourite festive jumper or outfit we can avoid discarded Santa suits ending up in a landfill. Mementos will be provided for all runners.”
This event is kindly sponsored by A-Plan Insurance, St Johns House and Alpha Sports.
