New Charity Partner For Solihull Half Marathon 2019

marie-curie-logo-feat

For the past 45 years the Marie Curie Hospice, West Midlands, has been offering the reassurance of specialist, round the clock care for people in Solihull and Birmingham living with a life limiting illness and their loved ones.

The Hospice on Marsh Lane is a special place that tailors its services to each person’s individual needs. Our Hospice Team includes Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Bereavement Counsellors and many more. We are supported by over 200 volunteers who play a vital role in the running of the hospice. Some of our patients stay in our 24-bed in-patient unit, where relatives and friends can visit any time of the day and can stay overnight with their loved ones. Our Day Therapy Unit offers Outpatient Clinics and a wide range of therapies and specialised support, including groups for patients with specific conditions.

Each year over 2000 people from Solihull and Birmingham use the Hospice and its services. Our local nursing service also visits people in their own homes, ensuring they are comfortable and able to spend their final moments in the place they want to be, surrounded by their loved ones.

We couldn’t do this without our supporters; every day we have to raise £11,300 to cover the costs of the Hospice and its services.

By running the Solihull Half Marathon for your local Hospice you are enabling us to continue to provide this care free of charge for people with terminal illness and their families in the local community.

CANCELLATION – Xtreme Challenge 2019

Event - The Xtreme Challenge - 10th Feb 2019

It is with much regret that KP Events have to announce that the 2019 Xtreme Challenge at Catton estate, scheduled for Sunday 10th February will not be taking place and has now been cancelled.

This decision is something that has not been taken lightly, all of us at KP Events enjoy the unique atmosphere generated at this event. However due to exorbitant rising insurance costs for obstacle races, and overall rising costs of venue hire and external agencies, combined with falling entry numbers it is no longer viable to stage this event.

All runners that have entered this event will have a choice of either a full refund or the option to defer their entry to any of KP Events races in the next twelve months, even if that race has a higher entry fee.

Once again we apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. We will be looking at new events for 2020 and these may well include an Xtreme type event or tough cross country race.

Many thanks for your continued support of KP Events.

NEWS – FESTIVE FUN FOR ALL

santa-dash-2018-lichfield

KP Events staged the annual Santa Dash on Sunday 9th Dec and saw hundreds of Santas of all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities descend on Stowe Field in Lichfield to take on the 2.5k route through the city centre streets.

Shared equally with the stalls and staff manning the city’s Festive Christmas Market and raising money for the Liberty Staffordshire Charity which looks to provide sporting activities and employment opportunities for young people with disabilities. Photographs by Richard Hindsley and Rohan Sahota.

UPDATE: This event is now FULL UP.

Sorry but we cannot accept any more entries, we’re up to our limit. Thank you to all that entered and enjoy your morning fun run.

This year’s Santa Dash is a scenic traffic-free 2.5k route around lovely Lichfield. Dress up as Santa and join all our other Santas for the fun event.

KP Events is organising it’s 6th festive fun run in Lichfield through the city on December 9th 10.30am with a start and finish on Stowe Field under the gaze of the city’s magnificent Cathedral.

The run, which follows a 2.5k route through the city centre, is very much about the taking part and dressing up in Santa suits which are provided and running through the city on the same day as the popular Festive Food market also takes place; really adding to the festive fun and frolics on the city streets.

Join us on Stowe Field before and after the Run for carols and other entertainment and meet Father Christmas too as the Charity Santa Run begins the build up to the big day itself!!
